How To Stand Out To The Gen Y ’s

Serendipit takes a look at how to make your Student Housing Property stand out to the Tech Savvy Gen Y Population

The Generation-Y’s are the large population of people who were born in the late 1980’s and 1990’s and are the people who are either in college now or are just about to be. These people are who you need to target to lease up your Student Housing Property. The things that matter to this generation are a bit different than that of generations past.  There are a number of factors that make them a very distinct group to target.

Gen Y’s are extremely technology savvy, which means when targeting them you need to approach them from many angles. It is important to always have everything you do be compatible for mobile use. Gen Y’s will look on their mobile device for information 5 times more often than using a standard computer. It is also crucial to be one step ahead when it comes to social media. This generation is naturally technology savvy, and will always be using the newest platform to access information.

The Gen Y’s are also natural multi-taskers. They are used to using many different social media platforms at once, and the more ways you can target them the better. Since this generation will constantly be multi-tasking, your Student Housing Property needs to make sure they are disseminating different information among various platforms to keep this generation engaged. The more engaging activities you can do to keep the generations from moving on to the next best thing, the better. Keep your content original and to the point.
