#SerendipitSpotlight: Andrew Leger celebrates his Serendipit Workiversary & takes us through a “Day in the Life” of a brand strategist.
Three years. From intern, to account coordinator, to jr. account executive, to account executive, to sr. account executive and brand strategist, it has been a hell of a ride so far. At the risk of sounding self-serving, I’ve gotten pretty good at what I do, thanks to the amazing team I am a part of. I’ve also won exactly zero March Madness brackets, baby pools, Fantasy Football Leagues, or even a Bachelor bracket. So – we’ll say it breaks about even on the self-serving blog post scale.
Now, I’ve been directed to detail what a day in the life of a brand strategist at Serendipit is like. The problem is…no day is the same in this crazy agency life. And that’s how my ADD brain likes it – that and chock-full of tasks requiring an overload of creativity. I’m not a fan of clichés or buzzwords (circle around and touch base with me on this), but it really has taken a “Jack of All Trades” role.
Yesterday, I wrote homepage copy, crafted USPs, created a brand story, had a steak for lunch, continued working on a marketing plan, and managed a couple of other client’s daily tasks.
Today, our team will present website homepage design options, execute tasks for a marketing plan I led the creation of, have a weekly client check-in, write inner page copy, and create a new client kickoff discovery document. Oh, and have Raising Cane’s for lunch.
Tomorrow, the team will present logo options, brainstorm tagline options and send naming options. I’ll begin work on a comprehensive competitive landscape analysis, head to a new business presentation, and review a social media content calendar. Lunch…still up in the air.
The day after that, planning will begin for a client’s fall marketing campaign. I’d tell you more about that, but that’s what we get paid for. So, give us a call if you want to see the magic in action.
We’ve done some really cool shit lately (can I say shit in this blog?). Our team has:
- Branded the “Social Intelligence Institute” – check out the logo. You can expect to see a lot more coming for this brand.
- Signed with The Giving Tree Wellness Center for a full website revamp and the creation of a new wholesale brand. Stay tuned for the website, naming and brand collateral updates!
- Named a new children “soft play” concept. Creative collateral is in progress. Be on the lookout for our client’s big branding reveal!
- Developed some fantastic websites. Check out Merge Architectural Group, Indigo Painting & Contracting, and DNA Trainer.
Life is good at Serendipit, and I’m lucky to have been surrounded by awesome, inspiring people for the past three years who have allowed me to grow in my career and as a person. And now it sounds like I’m either dying or retiring.
As Serendipit’s resident DJ and motivational speaker (a position I’ve slowly been taking over for the past three years), I’d be remiss if I didn’t end my guest blog post with a combination of both.
