FastMed Urgent Care owns and operates 109 clinics in North Carolina, Arizona and Texas, providing a broad range of acute/episodic and preventive healthcare services 365 days per year. FastMed also provides workers’ comp services at all of its clinics, and family and sports medicine services at select locations. FastMed has successfully treated more than 5.8 million patients since the opening of its first clinic in 2005, and is the largest urgent care operator to be awarded the Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval® for accreditation in healthcare quality and safety in ambulatory healthcare.
FastMed Urgent Care hired Serendipit Consulting right as the 2018 school season approached to develop a concentrated and timely public relations campaign that would highlight the company’s newest service, baseline concussion testing. With the initiative to shed light on the importance of injury assessment, media relations first began in August of 2018. Compelled by the effectiveness of Serendipit’s initial PR efforts, media relations continued into March of 2019, with efforts adjusted to reflect seasonal health trends and most specifically, flu season. Serendipit’s PR performance has worked to secure consistent coverage stratified over six markets and successfully achieve the client’s objectives.
Over a period of seven months, Serendipit secured 28 media wins for FastMed Urgent Care in Texas and Arizona markets. These ranged from print, online and broadcast outlets -- an average of one per week. Of these 28, 16 were were broadcast placements on local television stations.
Through this campaign, Serendipit was able to position FastMed Urgent Care as a regional authority on the topic of flu season and a leader in providing baseline concussion tests -- the former accounting for 7 media hits.
