Weekly Wrap-Up: Facebook Installs Voice Activation
Serendipit Consulting wraps up the week with Facebook’s recently added feature – Voice Activation.
With all of the updates Facebook has added over the past year, their most recent feature – voice activation – has caught our eyes and our ears the most. Facebook has worked its way into the hearts of people all over the world, making an impact on their daily life whether they want to admit it or not. With this latest update, people can communicate quicker and easier by speaking into the messaging app and telling it exactly what to send to their friends.
This functionality is currently only available on the Messenger app that Facebook uses. By pushing the “+” sign and speaking into your phone, the app will text what you say creating a message ready to send to your friends. This feature is very similar to the Siri application that Apple previously introduced to their iPhones. In addition, Facebook also introduced another app called Poke last month that allows users to chat a photo, short text or video message to their friends. These messages will then expire after 10 seconds.
These stand alone apps seem to be a reoccurring theme with Facebook recently and we do not see that changing anytime soon! Have you utilized the recent voice activation feature? Comment and let us know your thoughts!
