It’s time to catch up on all the excitement that’s happened since we last chatted!
For our monthly team happy hour, we hit up The Theodore, a local beer and wine bar. They had an awesome Pride Month special going on, so we came together and raised our glasses in solidarity and celebration!
We also had a fantastic movie day! The theme? “Love is in the air.” With all the recent wedding and engagement news buzzing around, we decided to embrace the mid-summer romance by throwing on some heartwarming (questionable) films and stuffing our faces with popcorn and candy.
But that’s not all! Let’s dive into more of this week’s juicy details.
LINK OF THE WEEK
If you’re a graphic designer, a beer enthusiast, or simply a child drawn to shiny, eye-catching things (no judgment), you’re in for a treat. Spanish designer Txaber has taken beer branding to a whole new level with his minimalist beer cans and bottles.
What’s so special about them, you ask? Well, these cans and bottles actually match the Pantone color of the beer inside! *cue collective oohs and ahhs* Click HERE to check out the awesome packaging.
Txaber has already covered a range of different brews, including pale lager, lager, pilsner, wheat beer, golden ale, dark ale, porter, stout, and imperial stout. And apparently, we aren’t the only ones nerding out over it because the project snagged a Silver Pentaward under the Concept Category.
However, while the design concept is undeniably awesome, the article’s writer addresses the elephant in the room: the typeface selection. And we couldn’t agree more. While we get the intention behind the abstract blurry Hipstelvetica typeface, it just fell a bit flat, doing nothing really for the overall awesome design concept.
In the wise words of our Sr. Graphic Designer, Justie, “A more simplistic sans serif typeface, with less of the distracting frilly fancy stuff, could have really let the design speak for itself.”
But what do you think?
SLACK THREAD OF THE WEEK
Things really took a turn in our weekly would you rather conversation when Justie asked, “If you were a serial killer, what would be your MO?”
What are you even doing if you don’t have a Jill or a cartographer friend in your life?
